Insulation of pipelines – the main purpose of insulation is to prevent losses resulting from penetration of energy outside the isolated elements. We distinguish between heat insulation and cold insulation. Insulating material can be, for example foam (coated or flooded), mineral wool, rubber. The insulating material is protected from external damage by a protective coat. We usually apply a coat of stainless steel, aluminum or galvanized steel. PVC coat is a cost-effective option, however, it is not very durable material and often gets damaged by external forces when mounted in the wrong place. As a result, plants incur additional costs associated with energy losses. The insulation must be executed with utmost care to avoid thermal bridge formation.
